Civics to meet the Boys in Blue
October 2010:
Civics meet premiership newcomers Blue Boys in a MTC Premiership clash at the Tamariskia Stadium in Swakopmund on Saturday. Blue Boys surprisingly held Orlando Pirates to a 2-all draw in their last match, but were earlier trashed 3-0 by MTC Premiership table-toppers, Ramblers. This time, Civics, which only has 2 points from their recent draw against Oshakati City and a loss to Orlando Pirates in the season's opening match, will have no choice but to pick up maximum points in the third round of matches of the new season.
Civics welcomes back their defensive hardman, Bobby Kaapama, who was red-carded against Pirates and it looks that coach Ali Akan will stick to the same side that played City in Windhoek last weekend.
Akan said a win against Blue Boys away from home will be important because it will boost the confidence of the players.
"The team needs a win that can further encourage the entire squad to look to the future matches in a positive light, to make us more determined and strive for better results," he said.
Blue Boys joined the premiership this season from the first division and never played top flight football before, despite being established about 50 years ago.
The coastal side played their lungs out last weekend against Pirates to keep the score level at 2-all in the end, a result that also motivated the side further ahead of their match against Civics on Saturday.
It will be up to the Civilians to pick themselves up and put in a great show that can ultimately lift their souls and inspire them to work harder in upcoming encounters.
