Civics secures place in Leo final
May 2011:
CIVICS secured a place in the final of the NFA Leo Cup after dismissing favoured Black Africa 2-1 at the Independence Stadium in Windhoek on Saturday.
Civics were the better side on the day as they created more chances with their first goal coming in the second half via the boot of Heini Isaacs a well worked combination with Lucky Maselesele from the left wing.
Civics went on to score their second goal through Samuel Goagoseb after a fine shot that evaded Black Africa's seasoned goalie Arnold Subeb to silence the BA crowd which hoped for an equaliser at the time.
In fact, their equaliser came deep into stoppage time and that did not deter Civics as they held on to their lead to win the match. Securing a final spot in the final of this competition is all Civics needed at this stage as they have all but lost their hopes to the league throne that was scooped by BA about two weeks ago.
Civics will now look at dismantling Eleven Arrows in the final that will be decided on May 28 in Windhoek.
