At Windhoek's Independence Stadium a depleted Civics side were held to a goalless draw by Mighty Gunners.
Civics, who were missing four of their key players on national duty, fielded a young side and their inexperience showed as they could not make use of their chances.
Lionel van Schalkwyk missed a great chance when he was put clear by William Chilufya, but with the goals gaping, completely missed the ball. Van Schalkwyk was soon replaced by Knowledge Iipinge, but he did not fare much better, missing a header right in front of the goals.
Mighty Gunners defended well with captain Paulus Shingenge having a fine match, while Anton Dawid put in some strong runs in attack.
